Invitation

You are invited to attend the Information Literacy Section of IFLA off-site meeting in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Thursday, August 11, 2011 that is being jointly organized by the Information Literacy Section of IFLA and the Information for All Program of UNESCO.

One day off-site meeting

The themes of this full-day meeting are: a) Information Literacy Indicators in the morning and b) Government Action Recommendations in the afternoon.

Two sessions

If you answer is YES to the following questions, you ought to come to this off-site meeting:

• Have you dreamed of having national statistics of information literacy at national level?
• Have you needed international comparison data of information literacy across country borders?
• Have you wished to inform/demand information literacy support and action to your national
  government?

Both sessions will provide librarians and information professionals with an opportunity to learn and provide input to two UNESCO projects: National information literacy indicators, and the drafting of government action recommendations, a proposal that will be undertaken by IFAPUNESCO. The two UNESCO tasks are being supported by the Information Literacy Section, so you have a unique opportunity to provide feedback and give shape to these international far reaching projects.
