International Associations must function within the framework of multinational or international library and information services.

Fees

International Associations are subject to a system of differentiated banded fees. Using the UNESCO Scale of Assessment and the United Nations List of Least Developed Countries, International Association Members are divided into three bands, according to the assessment for the country in which the majority of members of the association is based. Country codes are obtained from the ISO 3166 alpha-2-code list.

  • Band 1 – EUR [international_assoc_fee_1] (assessment is 0.251 or higher)
  • Band 2 – EUR [international_assoc_fee_2] (assessment is between 0.001 and 0.250)
  • Band 3 – EUR [international_assoc_fee_3] (associations whose members come mainly from countries on the UN List of Least Developed Countries)

IFLA Sections

International Association members may register free of charge for four professional Sections. Additional to those free registrations all association members will automatically be registered for the Management of Library Associations Section and, if applicable, to the appropriate Regional Activities Section (Africa, Asia & Oceania, or Latin America & the Caribbean).

International Associations are entitled to five votes.
