My aims and ambitions for the IFLA Governing Board
  • IFLA's role and goals should be made clear
  • IFLA should direct its efforts through the goals set out by the organisation
  • IFLA should pursue a leading and dynamic role through affirmative lobbying efforts to influence international library issues and strive for a higher rate of visibility
  • IFLA needs a fully functional administration to act in a vigorous and supportive capacity regarding matters of financial management and activities pursued by the organisation
  • IFLA should intensify its networking with other library organisations and assume a role as co-ordinator
  • IFLA's role as disseminator of information should be utilized to the fullest
  • IFLA should work on behalf of democracy, freedom of speech and global co-operation to improve the library community in all parts of the world
