  1. Call to Order
  2. The CB VII Chair, Lis Byberg called the meeting to order at 3 p.m. and because some members seemed to have been delayed because of confusion regarding the starting time of the meeting, took the nominations for positions on CB out of sequence.

  3. Elections

Information Co ordinator

The outgoing information co ordinator, Adele Fasick indicated that she preferred not to continue with the position and outlined the duties. She commented that our CB electronic discussion list was quite inactive and would like to see this changed; that material for posting to the IFLA website came through her. Jesus Lau volunteered to stand for the position and as there were no further nominations, Jesus was duly elected. Adele Fasick was thanked for her work on behalf of the CB and Jesus Lau was congratulated on his election.

CB VII Chair

There was some discussion on the duties and expectations of this position, particularly the need and expense of attending two PB meetings/year in The Hague. L Byberg explained that it was important that the CB VII representative to the PB meetings in The Hague had full cognisance of the financial status and projects of each of the members of the CB. In the event that it would be possible for a potential CB VII Secretary to attend the PB meetings in the Hague, instead of the Chair. Susan Lazinger agreed to take on this position. There being no further nominations, Susan was thanked for her offer and was duly elected.

CB VII Secretary

Marian Koren, incoming Secretary of LTR, agreed to stand as Secretary of the CB. It was agreed by those present that Marian would attend as the CB representative to the PB meetings in The Hague. There were no further nominations, and Marian was thanked for her offers and was duly elected to the position of Secretary.

The Chair (L Byberg) explained that she and K Smith would continue in their CB VII roles until the end of the business emanating from this Boston Conference. They would then hand over their duties to the new office bearers.

The chair closed the meeting at approximately 4 p.m.

K. Smith

Secretary
