Section on Regional Activities: Africa

Call for Papers

The Africa Section of IFLA invites the librarians of the region to participate in the Africa Paper Contest as a way to encourage professionals to join IFLA's programmes. The one who will be selected to present the paper will receive funding support to attend the IFLA General Conference in Glasgow, UK, August 2002 and present his paper during the Africa Section Open Forum.

THEME: Delivering information to the Community in the new millenium : A challenge for Librarians in Africa

Papers must be original and have never been published before.
Papers should be of 20 pages maximum, two-double space.
They should be in English or French with an abstract of one page in the same language.
20 minutes will be allowed for the delivery of the paper.
Papers may be submitted by e.mail, fax or post.
The author should indicate his/her personal full identification and an abstract of the curriculum vitae.
Deadline for presentation abstracts (betwen 100-200 words) 1st november 2001. Paper : 15 january 2002.
Papers should be sent to the IFLA Regional Office in Dakar, Senegal.

Selection

Members of IFLA Africa Section, inclunding the Président, Secretary and the Regional Manager will select the best paper.
