The purpose of the survey, on behalf of the Observatoire Permanent de la Lecture Publique à Paris, was to inform OPLPP's deliberations on resource-sharing and collections development in Paris. 28 INTAMEL member libraries contributed, from Africa, Asia, Europe and North America. The survey results were presented by Aline Girard-Billon at a seminar on 6 December 2001 at the Bibliothèque Nationale de France entitled 'Collections of Paris libraries: how to know them better, how to share them'.
