Greetings!
Join me here as I explore my first IFLA World Library and Information Congress, 23-27 August 2009, in Milan, Italy. I will be attending the Congress thanks to the Council on Library and Information Resources' Rovelstad Scholarship in International Librarianship.Just a bit of information about me...
Currently, I am finishing my Master of Science in Library and Information Science with a concentration in Rare Books and Special Collections at Long Island University's Palmer School in Manhattan. In addition, I hold an M.Phil. in Reformation and Enlightenment Studies from Trinity College Dublin and a B.A. in History from Westmont College. Through experience in the Rare Book and Manuscript Library at Columbia University and an Association of Research Libraries' Career Enhancement Program Fellowship at the University of Kentucky, I have had the opportunity to explore institutional, regional and national developments in special collections librarianship.
I hope you will join me as I explore the IFLA Congress and develop a better understanding of issues, concerns and developments in the international library community!
Well, I have a plane to catch, see you on the other side!
