Last year&amp;#8217;s survey yielded the largest response so far with a total of 122 UK library authorities completing the questionnaire. &amp;#160;

 <title>SWSIG approved by PC</title>

On 5 December 2011 IFLA&amp;#8217;s Professional Committee (&lt;a href=&quot;../professional-committee&quot;&gt;PC&lt;/a&gt;) confirmed the establishment of the Semantic Web Special Interest Group.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
This SIG resides under IFLA&amp;#8217;s IT Section, which is to monitor the SIG carefully and report on its progress to the PC for its August meeting each year. The initial 4-year term of the SIG will be completed by the end of 2015.
&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
Emmanuelle Berm&amp;#232;s is the Convener of this SIG for the term 2012-2013.&lt;br /&gt;

This slot was prepared together with the IT section of IFLA, and we were able to win well-known keynote speakers from Europe, North-America and Australia who will give us an introduction into this technology and present some of their cutting-edge findings.
