Call for Papers for the Environmental Sustainability and Libraries SIG's Open session in Puerto Rico

The IFLA Environmental Sustainability and Libraries SIG will hold its third Open Session during the General Conference and is seeking papers.

The session's theme, in line with the conference theme, is: "SUSTAINABLE INNOVATION AND GREEN INFORMATION IN LIBRARIES FOR ALL". This is an opportunity for information professionals from all parts of the world to share ideas, experiences, research results, projects and innovations.

Latest on the IFLA 'special partnership' with Emerald

Almost a year ago, IFLA and Emerald agreed to work together on the wider dissemination of knowledge generated by IFLA. A 'special partnership' was agreed, and the first articles to be open access were announced in Emerald's November 2010 Charleston conference press release.

Gothenburg Congress and satellite event presenters are now in the process of being contacted by Emerald editors, about potential publication.

The logo must be used in all published material, and marketing and promotional activities associated with IFLA. This includes: newsletters, brochures, flyers, press releases, books, magazines, catalogues, advertisements, programmes, labels and covers of digital media, etcetera.

de Gruyter Publisher announces grant fund for WLIC 2010

De Gruyter Publisher acknowledges the Swedish library association and the librarians from Goteborg in their support of next year's World Library and Information Congress WLIC 2010.

De Gruyter Publisher will establish a grant fund to support young professionals from the Pacific region, to enable them to have the same chance to go to Goteborg for the IFLA Congress as they would have had in Brisbane.
