During 2009, IFLA language centres around the world have been busy with a major translation project. Using funds provided by the Swedish International Co-operation and Development Agency (Sida), IFLA's FAIFE Committee has co-ordinated translations of the following policy documents and training manuals:

By way of CDNL, IFLA has received the following message from the Director-General of the National Library of Haïti:

The building of the National library is safe, the shelves and holdings have shifted...we will prevail ...our building is the only one standing in the whole area.

I have not yet been able to locate all the personel, but half of them are safe...we keep on checking.

We will keep you posted.
