CUBA-L: a new IFLA/FAIFE mailing list

> Subscribe <

IFLA/FAIFE is happy to announce the opening of a new FAIFE mailing list specifically dedicated the discussion of freedom of access to information and freedom of expression in relation to libraries and librarianship in Cuba.

The background for establishing CUBA-L is the overwhelming interest amongst a group of dedicated FAIFE-L subscribers in posting news and discussion of intellectual freedom issues in Cuba. In response to this level of interest, the FAIFE Committee decided at its business meeting in Seoul to set up CUBA-L as a special forum for debate.

By this initiative, we intend to encourage both this special discussion on CUBA-L; and also the general debate on FAIFE-L, which some suspect is inhibited by the frequency of Cuba-related postings. We therefore invite present and possible new subscribers, especially interested in Cuba, to continue their discussions on CUBA-L. The list is moderated by member of the IFLA/FAIFE Committee Mark Perkins of New Caledonia.

  • CUBA-L is FAIFE's mailing list on freedom of access to information and freedom of expression in Cuba
  • The CUBA-L will specifically focus on intellectual freedom issues in relation to libraries and librarianship in Cuba; and aims to be a forum for communication, exchange of information and professional debate
  • The list is restricted to subscribers: IFLA members, and individuals, institutions and organisations worldwide concerned with issues related to freedom of access to information and freedom of expression in Cuba
  • When referring to long text, subscribers are kindly requested to use URL when possible; hence other subscribers can request posting of text when required. Submissions that do not have a clear reference to the purpose of the list will not be approved by the moderator. Please also refer to: Disclaimer and Terms of Use of IFLA's Mailing lists.
