Current Conference
The next IFLA World Library and Information Congress will take place in Singapore, from 17-23 August 2013. GENLOC is currently planning its activities for that Conference and will announce them early in 2013.
Pre-Conference Satellite Meeting
GENLOC and the IFLA Newspapers Section will offer a pre-conference satellite meeting August 14-15, 2013 in Singapore. The main theme of the pre-conference will be: Newspapers to the People. For further information about the satellite meeting including the call for papers please see the Pre-Conference Announcement.
NOTE: The deadline for abstracts for the joint Pre-Conference satellite meeting has been extended to February 28, 2013. Acceptance notices will be sent to authors by March 4, 2013. Completed papers and presentations are due June 30, 2013.
Study Tour
GENLOC will sponsor a study tour during the 2013 Conference providing an opportunity for participants to learn more about how Singapore's libraries and archives manage genealogical and historical resources.
Call for Papers
GENLOC will once again sponsor a session during the next Conference. Please watch for the annoncement about the session topic and consider submitting a paper.
GENLOC and the IFLA Newspapers Section are now accepting proposals for their 2013 pre-conference: Newspapers to the People. Please see the attached announcement for information on submitting a proposal. Proposals will be accepted through February 28, 2013. Guidelines for submitting a proposal.
Past Conferences
The Genealogy and Local History Section has convened a session at each World Library and Information Congress since 2001.
