This group includes library and information centres, library schools, bibliographic and research institutes, and other institutions or bodies that would like to contribute professionally to the activities of the Federation. IFLA also offers the opportunity for companies who provide products and services to the library community to join as Corporate Partners.
Institutional Members are subject to a system of differentiated banded fees. Using the UNESCO Scale of Assessment and the United Nations List of Least Developed Countries, Institutional Members are divided into three bands, according to the assessment for the country in which they are based. Country codes are obtained from the ISO 3166 alpha-2-code list.
- Band 1 – EUR 489 (assessment is 0.251 or higher)
- Band 2 – EUR 432 (assessment between 0.001 and 0.250)
- Band 3 – EUR 202 (institutions from countries on the UN List of Least Developed Countries)
Institutional Members are entitled to register for two Sections free of charge. In addition to these free registrations, all Institutions will automatically be registered in the appropriate Regional Activities Section (Africa, Asia & Oceania, or Latin America & the Caribbean).
All Institutional Members are entitled to one vote.
