Call for papers for WLIC 2012 Helsinki: Empowering staff through preservation training!

By Danielle Mincio

WLIC 2012 Helsinki Preservation and Conservation Section session with Education and Training

Dear Colleagues

The preservation
of the cultural heritage is
an ongoing responsibility for libraries and archives.  Ensuring that staff understand their role and
are trained to
handle preservation issues is an integral component of library
and archives
operations.  It begins
when an item
is selected and acquired for the collection, and plays an
ongoing role in
handling, storage, display and lending.
Come share your successful experiences in training your
staff to contribute
to a comprehensive preservation program for your collections.

Have you set up
a training plan for your staff
covering any or all of the following topics? We would like to
showcase
practical examples of best practices that would appeal to an
audience of
librarians and archivists from around the world with varied
backgrounds and
resources.
