Moldova holds first workshop in new BSLA project

In partnership with Novateca, the Global Libraries programme in Moldova, and IREX, IFLA has launched a new Building Strong Library Associations programme country project in Moldova. The project started in November 2012, and will continue until November 2013.

The project will consist of several workshops and cascade activities utilising BSLA materials to bring the programme to different regions of Moldova. Trainer Winnie Vitzansky, who recently was the trainer on the highly successful two-year BSLA project in Botswana, will facilitate the workshops. Mariana Harjevschi, president of LAM and member of CLM is the in-country coordinator.

The first workshop for the Board of The Library Association of Moldova (LAM) was held December 10-12, 2012 in Chişinău, Moldova. The workshop was focused on orienting the new board, elected in November 2012, on association governance, strategy, decision making and communication between the association's council, board, regions and professional committees. Participants also focused on actions that will contribute to relationship building with stakeholders and members.

More information about the Building Strong Library Associations programme is available on the IFLA website.
