The suggestion of a blog for the SIG Library History was raised during discussions at the IFLA 2016 Columbus and a need for something like this became more apparent to me as I tried to post photos of the 2016 session in an email to you – did not work; and have been advised by IFLA that we cannot post photos to our website. Hence and with many thanks to our talented webmaster Dr Anup Kumar Das the blog now exists: http://iflalibraryhistorysig.blogspot.com. The Blog will be moderated and to post to it you first need to register with the blog before posting. You should send your expression of interest to our Blog Moderator: Dr Anup Kumar Das (anupdas2072[at]gmail.com) who will then add you as blog writer/ author.  Anup has also made an offer which I accept with gratitude, to be the moderator of the blog. The blog is Google based, however, if you do not have a Google account, the alternative option is that you compose your text in an email editor and send it to Anup (ask him to know more about this option). The posts will directly go the blog, after the moderator's approval.  Photos can also be shared by the registered authors using the same method.

With good wishes to you all and I do hope that you have some interesting library history stories with photos to share with us,

Dr Kerry Smith, FALIA, AM
