The New Professionals Special Interest Group is in Columbus, Ohio, from August 11th to August 19th, 2016.

IFLAcamp⁴ 2016 at OCLC Headquarters (Dublin, Columbus)

Organized by the NPSIG, IFLAcamp⁴ 2016 is a two-day satellite meeting in the mode of a library unconference that provides plenty of space for ad-hoc sessions and group discussions. The participant-driven approach allows for active involvement of all attendees and including all kinds of topics of interest.

NPSIG Open session “Failing successfully in a librarian’s career”

The NPSIG open session will provide an opportunity to share experiences between librarians of different generations (very new professionals, as well as most experienced librarians), and to learn about failure and failure management.

The session will include a presentation of the topic by the NPSIG, including comments gathered through a survey and social media before the conference. Attendees will be encouraged to participate in a discussion and to share own experiences or insights.

Big data SIG open session: Looking beyond conventional information: big, open, and research data
