The Interinstitutional Committee for Informational and Librarian Cooperation (Comitê Interinstitucional de Cooperação Informacional e Bibliotecária – CICB) and The Brazilian Institute of Information in Science and Technology (Instituto Brasileiro de Informação em Ciência e Tecnologia – IBICT) will be co-hosting the LAC midterm meeting in Brasília, Brazil from 11-15 March 2019.  The meeting will include a number of other related events, including a day-long seminar and the official opening of Brazilian Librarian’s Day.

IFLA President Glòria Pérez-Salmerón will deliver the keynote address at the seminar on 11 March, on the topic: The role of libraries as promoters of change — the impact of the IFLA Global Vision. 

On 12 March, President Pérez-Salmerón will be participating in the official opening of Brazilian Librarian's Day together with National Congress Authorities and the Federal Library Board. She will also participate in the IBICT council meeting on the 13th and attend the IFLA LAC Standing Committee meeting on 13-15 March.

The event is organised by Cecilia Leite Oliveira, IBICT Director and CICIB President.
