This major European Policy Debate will focus on some important challenges which cultural heritage faces in Europe and on the significance of shared cultural heritage for the future of the European project.
The Policy Debate will focus on four themes:
- the need for a stronger and renewed commitment by incoming EU institutions to keep cultural heritage on the top of the European Union’s political priorities and at the heart of the revival of the European Project.
- the threats to cultural heritage caused by climate change
- the need to boost financing for the benefit of endangered heritage
- What role does cultural heritage play in the formation of a “European way of life” and how can it be promoted today?
The European Cultural Heritage Summit is organised by Europa Nostra. This European Policy Debate is organised in partnership with the Fondation du Patrimoine and the Collège des Bernardins, with the support of the European Commission and the French Ministry of Culture.
