On 15 December 2020, the Iran Public Library Association (IPLA) will be holding a national conference on the “Social functionalities of public libraries”

The conference focuses on the following:

  • Services and programs tailored to the social roles of public libraries
  • Public and community libraries
  • Public libraries as a social technology
  • Libraries in the public sphere
  • Public libraries and social harms
  • Public Libraries and Natural Crisis
  • Economic aspects of public libraries: production, employment, entrepreneurship and business
  • Social concepts related to public libraries: social participation, social justice, improving the quality of life of people

IFLA President-elect Barbara Lison will deliver a pre-recorded speech for the conference.
