Learn, view, connect, reach, and shape

Hosted in different locations across the world since 1928, the process for selecting a venue for the IFLA World Library and Information Congress (WLIC) has always been rigorous. During the selection process, national associations, cities and regions were assessed as to who will best support the energetic and spirited atmosphere of our Congress. Choosing an online host for our first ever virtual IFLA WLIC has been different but no less rigorous or inclusive.

IFLA WLIC 2021 will take place between 17-19 August on a dynamic virtual event platform, built and optimised for us by our new partner, Delegate Connect. Delegate Connect has a strong background in providing virtual conferencing space, working with clients all over the world to deliver outstanding virtual conference experiences.

On our new virtual platform, participants will be able to join three different streams, participate in Zoom meeting rooms, and connect in real time with others. Captioning will be available in all streams in all seven official IFLA languages. The platform content will be available to delegates for one year after the conference concludes so materials be reviewed at one’s own pace.

You can expect to:

  • LEARN with and from fellow librarians from around the world;
  • VIEW a selection of best practices, latest research and emerging initiatives;
  • CONNECT with information specialists and librarians from every corner of the planet and debate with them to advance the library field;
  • REACH new audiences;
  • SHAPE the future of Libraries!

Mark your calendars and prepare to connect online with the global library community!
