Library evaluation, assessment, and performance measurement can be a daunting process for library managers, but it is essential, especially in these challenging times, as you need to reach out and connect with your community and the library’s stakeholders. Where do you start? What is being evaluated? This workshop, sponsored by the IFLA Statistics and Evaluation Section, builds a working understanding and elaborations on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and their applications in different types of libraries aligned with strategic drivers or anticipated outcomes.

Who should attend?

The workshop is intended for library managers and quality assurance librarians involved in the evaluation and assessment of library and information services.

Learning outcomes

After completing the workshop, attendees should be able to:

  1. Apply the conceptual understanding of KPIs into library and information settings; and
  2. Make effective decision-making in quality assurance and performance measurement.

Facilitator

Sherine Eid, is the Acting Head of the Quality Improvement Unit, Library Sector at Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Egypt, and has twenty-two years’ experience in the Library and Information Science field. She is a co-opted member of the IFLA Statistics and Evaluation Standing Committee and a member of the LD4 Steering Group. She is a reviewer for international journals and conferences and contributed to many publications, published by IFLA, Bibliotheca Alexandrina, and Taylor and Francis. She holds an MBA degree in Global Marketing from Paris ESLSCA Business School.
