IFLA’s Acquisition and Collection Development Section is seeking co-opted members from Asia, Oceania, Middle East, and Africa. These countries are currently under represented in our standing committee.

If you are interested in joining us as a co-opted member, you can submit an expression of interest via the self-nomination form. We are looking for co-opted members from these regions to add to the diversity of our Section’s global membership.

Nominations will be accepted until July 8, 2022, after which we will notify applicants. As a co-opted member, your term would be until the next formal election cycle in 2023, at which point you can apply to be a full member of the Section.

Our Section is very active, and you would be expected to participate in at least one of our working groups that cover initiatives related to acquisition and collection development around the world. We would also expect you to attend our meetings (mostly online) and when possible, IFLA’s WLIC. Online attendance may be possible at the business meeting during the annual congress.

You can read more about our Section’s activities on the IFLA ACD website.
