IFLA’s Libraries for Children & Young Adults Section is seeking:

  1. Co-opted members from under-represented regions including Latin America, Africa, and Southeast Asia;
  2. In addition, we have a casual vacancy due to resignation of a member and are seeking a new member from anywhere in the world to fill that spot.

If you are interested in joining us, prospective members should submit an expression of interest via the self-nomination form.

Nominations will be accepted until June 1, 2022, after which we will notify applicants. As a co-opted member, or as a new member filling a casual vacancy, your term would be until the next formal election cycle in 2023, at which point you can apply to be a full member of the Section.

Our Section is very active, and you would be expected to participate in one or more of our working groups that cover initiatives related to library service for young people around the world.

We’d also expect you to attend our meetings, including quarterly meetings, a midyear meeting (might be hybrid going forward), and when possible, IFLA’s WLIC. Virtual attendance may be possible at the midyear meeting and annual conference.

You can read more about our Section’s activities on the IFLA website.

Thank you for your consideration!
