One recent area of development for national bibliographies has been the creation of ‘linked data’ versions of the datasets e.g. the Linked Open British National Bibliography. A brief introduction to the general topic is offered later in the Service Delivery section however the Linked Data API represents a protocol specific to usage with the RDF triple store technology which underpins linked data systems.
