The Qatar National Library Annual Forum for Library Professionals will take place this year with the theme “GLAMs and Cultural Diplomacy”. It will explore how galleries, libraries, archives, and museums (GLAMs) around the world promote diplomacy locally and between nations. 

This year’s edition of the Libraries Lead Forum will explore topics such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Restitution of cultural heritage items
  • Facilitating cultural exchanges in the arts, sports, literature, music, science, business and more
  • Creating cultural programs to improve relations between divergent groups
  • Exchanging ideas, values, and traditions to strengthen relationships and promote cooperation locally or internationally

Claire McGuire, IFLA Policy and Research Officer, will speak in this year’s forum on a panel that will examine ways to harness culture to strengthen relations at all levels.
