On the 5th and 6th of December a follow up meeting to the UBC/UNESCO Vancouver Declaration on Preservation and Digitisation took place in The Hague. The Vancouver Declaration pinpoints key issues affecting the preservation and long-term accessibility of digital documentary heritage.
The IFLA Media and Information Literacy (MIL) Recommendations and the Libraries Serving People with Print Disabilities (LPD) Manifesto were passed at the 37th UNESCO General Conference held in Paris.

Last week IFLA was represented at the 8th Internet Governance Forum in Bali, Indonesia, where the libraries’ perspective on intellectual property, free trade, access to information for disadvantaged peoples, net neutrality, human rights and development was contributed to a number of panels.
