As part of the UNESCO MONDIACULT conference, IFLA is happy to be joining colleagues from the Culture2030Goal campaign as well as the Canadian National Commission for UNESCO at a side event on making culture more central to sustainable development.

Banner for the MONDIACULT Side ETaking place on the first full day of the conference, the session will discuss two new publications – guidance from the Canadian National Commission on how to integrate culture better now, and the zero draft of the explicit culture goal prepared by the Culture2030Goal campaign.

Both of these publications look to address the gap that can risk appearing between culture and development policies, leading to missed opportunities to promote an inclusive and sustainable future. While much of the responsibility lies on those coordinating development policy, culture ministers and agency heads as well as the cultural sector as a whole also needs to step up and show our contribution.

The side-event will be livestreamed, and you can watch it here:
