From August 9 to 11 a pre-conference will be held in Ste-Luce Martinique organized by AIFBD (International Association of French Speaking Librarians and Documentalists) and the Preservation and Conservation Section of IFLA. Our colleague and former Chair of the M&M Section Réjean Savard is the president of AIFBD.
From August 9 to 11 a pre-conference will be held in Ste-Luce Martinique organized by AIFBD (International Association of French Speaking Librarians and Documentalists) and the Preservation and Conservation Section of IFLA. Our colleague and former Chair of the M&M Section Réjean Savard is the president of AIFBD.
Under the topic "Sustainability and development for libraries" the conference will feature about thirty speakers from various countries (Haiti, Québec, Switzerland, Senegal, USA, Cuba, Lebanon, Cote d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Mali Gabon, Morocco, Belgium, France, Benin, French West Indies, etc.).
This will be the second AIFBD Conference which is held every third year in conjunction with IFLA (last one was in Montreal before Quebec City IFLA conference in 2008).
Everybody is welcome although some knowledge of French is necessary because all conferences will be done in this language.
