Each year, the Academic and Research Libraries section awards three grant to cover registration at the IFLA World Library and Information Congress.  Each recipient receives € 435 registration expenses at the 2012 IFLA Congress.  The Awards will be formally presented at Conference Session 165: 15 August 2012 09:30 – 11:30 | Room: 6 Hot topics in research support

…”The Conference will give me the opportunity of interaction with international LIS Professional Associations Leaders to discuss management of a Professional Association in a developing country and o get new strategies to improve Uganda Library Association of which am the General Secretary. I should also have the opportunity to interact with experienced information professionals to share experiences which might have positive impact on as LIS educator. Through multiplier effect, these experiences would improve performance of colleagues at the Department of Information Studies I coordinate I intend to visit poster sessions, exhibitions, for exposure to  developments and practices in the profession.
