Our session at this years IFLA conference adresses the issue of accessibility at conferences. In addition to speakers there will be an open hearing on accessibility at IFLA and other library conferenses.
The LSN session this year focuses on library services to persons experiencing homelessness from different perspectives, including the users perspective. It is also part of the work on developing guidelines for these services.
We need your help! We are writing guidelines for providing library services to people who are experiencing homelessness. An important step in this process is collecting examples of library services to people who are experiencing homelessness worldwide. Can you send us examples?
A session organized by The Library Services to People with Special Needs Section (LSN) and Public Libraries Section (PLS) explores library services to the homeless, people with mental difficulties and the incarcerated.
The guidelines are a revision and expansion of the previous guidelines published by IFLA in 2001. We expect them to be a valuable tool for library staff who are responsible for serving persons with reading and learning difficulties.
