Closing of the meeting of the Intergovernmental Ibero-Libraries Council

Members of the IFLA Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean attended the closing meeting of the “XVIII Consejo Intergubernamental de Iberbibliotecas”- (CERLAC-UNESCO).
The meeting was held for the first time in Buenos Aires in the “Ricardo Güiraldes Library”, headquarter of the General Direction of Books, Libraries and Promotion of Reading, from the Ministry of Culture of the Government of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires.
The “Iberlibraries Program” (Programa Iberbibliotecas) aims to reaffirm the social function of libraries, promotion of reading and access to information for all citizens.
