New and clarified rules – especially concerning SIGs
14 July 2015
The Professional Committee consulted with Officers on changes to the rules of procedure, mainly concerning the operation of Special Interest Groups. As a result, proposed changes were put to the Governing Board in April 2015. The Governing Board accepted all the changes in principle. The revised clauses must now go to a notary before incorporating them into the official Rules.
In the meantime, the adopted principles will be applied and more details can be found on the following pages.
Clarification of certain rules
Changes to the operation of Special Interest Groups (SIGs)
IFLA HQ staff will be in touch with individual SIGs if these changes will affect them.
The PC also proposed that Standing Committee elections might be conducted electronically as well as by traditional postal means. These proposals will be taken forward under a review of procedures for all nomination and election categories.
