Open Access democratises information

In April 2011, IFLA held its Presidential Meeting in The Hague. The meeting presented current issues for libraries concerning copyright, Open Access and human rights. The following film created in conjunction with the meeting introduces current issues for libraries concerning Open Access.

Open Access reduces barriers to access to information and creative works. It raises visibility, promotes culture, and helps authors to retain their rights. Together with partners, libraries build infrastructure and develop access services to research and to local and cultural heritage.
