Thanks to the efforts made by our French colleagues, gathered in the International section of the Association of France’s Librarians Lise Dachet, Charlène Perrin, Eléonore Clavreul and Van Ta-Minh, a French translation of the Toolkit is now available.

The March 2021 issue of the IFLA Library Services to Multicultural Populations Section's newsletter has been published, looking back at the origins and applications of the IFLA/UNESCO Multicultural Library Manifesto, which was adopted by IFLA almost 15 years ago.

It has been fifteen years since the section developed the Multicultural Library Manifesto in 2006 - we'd love to hear your stories on how you have used these resources in your libraries. This year also marks the first time that the IFLA WLIC will be held as a fully-virtual conference, so we'd also like you to share how you have been 'going virtual' in connecting with your communities during these changing times.

Thanks to the efforts made by our American colleagues Kirsten Grünberg, Freda Mosquera, and Alicia K. Long, a Spanish translation of the Toolkit is now available.

In recent months, the COVID-19 pandemic has created challenges for libraries around the world in the way that they deliver services. To help share stories of best practice, innovation, and challenging experiences, the IFLA Library Services to Multicultural Populations Section will be focusing much of the upcoming issue of its newsletter on the impact of COVID-19 on libraries that work with multicultural communities.

COVID-19 - Translated language resources available for libraries to communicate with communities

The IFLA Library Services to Multicultural Populations Section is working with the Australian Library and Information Association to create translated signage and text for libraries to communicate with their communities about library closures and changes to programs.
