      Dear Colleagues, The global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic has not ceased. The pandemic that has caused so much severe damage to human lives and disruptions to our daily life and work, also brought about unprecedented changes that are reshaping the library communities in Asia and Oceania, as well as the global library world.

      9th Eurasian Academic Libraries Conference (EALC – 2020) 30 September – 2 October, (online), Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan

        In light with the growing global concern related to the spread of the COVID-19 (Coronavirus), as a precautionary measure, the Steering Committee of the Eurasian Academic Libraries Conference (EALC) has decided to reschedule the annual conference from June 16-19, 2020 to September 30 - October 2, 2020. The conference will take place online.

        KUALA LUMPUR, UNESCO WORLD BOOK CAPITAL 2020

          On World Book and Copyright Day, 23 April 2020, Kuala Lumpur officially becomes UNESCO World Book Capital 2020. It is the 20th city to be named the title as announced by UNESCO Director General Audrey Azoulay on 19 September 2018 on the recommendation by the World Book Capital Advisory Panel that consists of UNESCO, IFLA and International Publishers Association (IPA). Athens, Greece and Sharjah, UAE were the 18th and 19th World Book Capital cities respectively.
