From 28 to 29 June, the fifth IFLA Global Vision Regional Workshop was held at the modern National Library of Singapore. 32 participants from 27 countries in Asia Oceania joined the voice of more than 300 librarians that have been gathered by IFLA so far, to explore together how a connected library field can tackle the challenges of the future.

IFLA President Donna Scheeder, expressed her enthusiasm with yet another fruitful and thought-provoking workshop of this global discussion:

“I was inspired by the work of the Asian library leaders who participated in the global vision workshop. I commend them for their commitment to uniting the library field.”

During the workshop, IFLA Secretary General Gerald Leitner said to the participants:

“It’s fantastic to see how library leaders of 27 countries from Asia and Oceania work together for the future of a united library field. There is so much positive energy and vast experience - which makes me confident that we are on the right way.”
