Session 088: Collections and Books [A]cross Borders

All attendees of the 2017 IFLA World Congress are invited to attend an all-day, off-site session on Monday, 21 August at the Wroclaw University Library on the theme “Collections and Books [A]cross Borders.”  This offsite session is available to 2017 WLIC conference participants at no extra charge.  If you are planning to attend, please “pre-register” at the following link, so that the organizers can plan appropriately.  The session is limited to 200 participants.  Please register here: https://iflarbscs.konfeo.com/

This all-day session explores historical and current practices for managing and providing access to collections that have crossed borders using case studies from around the world. A closing panel will discuss a set of draft guidelines for libraries to consider when acquiring and managing “non-patrimonial” books and collections.  Group discussion will be encouraged throughout the day.  Please join in the discussion of this complex and thought-provoking topic.

The Wroclaw University Library is conveniently located adjacent to the city center and is serviced by many tram lines.  Complete program information and a map showing the venue: https://www.ifla.org/wp-content/uploads/files/assets/rare-books-and-manuscripts/ProgramSessions/ifla2017_session088_info_and_program.pdf
