It’s just one week to go before IFLA launches the IFLA Global Vision voting site and hears the views of librarians and library friends all over the world. Are you ready to get involved? 

On Monday 21 August, during the World Library and Information Congress in Wroclaw, Poland, IFLA’s Secretary General, Gerald Leitner, will unveil a global platform to tackle the challenges of the future. Six questions – each with 10 possible choices – will help create a worldwide library roadmap that will unite the library field and make it stronger in the face of ever-increasing globalisation. 

Since the kick off meeting, held in Athens, Greece in April 2017, and the six regional workshops in Washington D.C.,Yaoundé, Alexandria, Buenos Aires, Singapore and Madrid, the IFLA Global Vision discussion has motivated librarians to organise their own discussions – from Aruba to Zambia – sparking ideas about the best ways libraries can unite. The Global Vision vote marks the next phase in this journey.

Speaking ahead of his presentation in Poland, Gerald said:
