The IFLA Audiovisual and Multimedia Section, joined by the Information Technology Section, invite interested professionals to submit proposals for the open session to be held during IFLA WLIC in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 24-30 August 2018.

The Session will focus on the theme "Video Games: Winning strategies for libraries".

Video games have evolved from an entertaining pastime and academic, public, school, and special libraries have embraced video games and engaged their users with creative and innovative methods.

Libraries are tasked with keeping these ephemeral games accessible for today’s and tomorrow’s players to enjoy and appreciate.

Paper proposals are encouraged that address the many challenges and opportunities of creating, collecting, cataloging, providing, preserving, and storing video games in libraries.

The deadline for submission of abstracts is 31 January 2018.
