3rd Agenda 21 for Culture Summit
Cities lead the actions on the role of culture in sustainable development
3 – 5 April 2019
Buenos Aires, Argentina
IFLA will be represented by Alejandro Santa, Head of the IFLA Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean
After events in Bilbao, Spain in 2015 and Jeju, Korea in 2017, the 3rd Summit of the Agenda 21 for Culture programme takes place in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on 3-5 April.
Building on the Agenda 21 for Culture Actions, the meeting is an opportunity for local government leaders around the world to share ideas and hear the latest about key relevant global issues, and how effective culture policies can deliver progress.
As key partners for local governments in delivering change across different policy areas, libraries have an important contribution to make to this work.
Alejandro Santa, Head of IFLA's Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean, will underline the importance of the work of libraries in providing access to information - including to culture - and invite the mayors and officials present to work with their libraries.
