IFLA and the National Library of China
IFLA has sucessfully partnered with the NLC through both cooperation and international cultural exchange for decades.
Since 2009, the NLC has hosted IFLA's Chinese Language Centre which regularly provides translations of key IFLA documents and materials in order to better meet the needs of the global Chinese speaking community. In 2004, the IFLA-PAC China Centre was established at the National Library of China in order to raise awareness of preservation issues, build a preservation network and encourage the development of national and international preservation standards.
IFLA Secretary General Gerald Leitner will give an opening speech as well as a keynote at the Symposium.
