Vicki McDonald

IFLA congratulates Vicki McDonald, member of the IFLA Governing Board and Chair of the Professional Committee, on her receipt of the Membership of the Order of Australia, as part of the Australia Day Honours.

In recognition of her years of work both within libraries, and for the Australian Library and Information Association, Vicki McDonald has received the Membership of the General Division of the Order of Australia.

The honour helps to highlight the important contribution that librarians and librarianship can make to public life.

Those active in IFLA will know Vicki well, not only from her time on the Governing Board, where she is in her second term, including currently working as Chair of the Professional Committee, but also from her work with the Academic and Research Libraries Section.

IFLA is lucky to be able to count on the commitment of Vicki, as well as so many others, in building a strong and united library field.

IFLA President Christine Mackenzie and IFLA Secretary General Gerald Leitner congratulated Vicki, underlining: ‘this is a richly deserved award, given all that Vicki has done for libraries nationally and internationally. We look forward to continuing to benefit from her energy and expertise into the future’.
