IFLA Africa SC Panel Discussion: Digital fatigue, InfoDemic and meta literacy

The IFLA Africa Section Standing Committee is proud to host a panel discussion on the subject of "Digital fatigue, InfoDemic and meta literacy."
Rachel Fischer is the Co-Founder, Researcher and Ethics Practitioner at 3Consulting. She is also a member of UNESCO IFAP’s Working Group on Information Accessibility. As an Information Ethicist, her roles include being the Co-Chair of the International Centre for Information Ethics (ICIE), Deputy Editor for the International Review of Information Ethics (IRIE) and Coordinator for the Information Ethics Network for Africa (IEN4A). She seeks to represent the Global South by championing inclusivity and promoting the IFAP objectives. Her PhD research focal areas include information ethics, cognitive justice and intercultural dialogue.
Collence Chisita is a researcher, editor, author and lecturer in Information Sciences. He has been working with different local and international organizations including LIASA, ZIMLA, LIAZ, AFLIA and IFLA. Chisita has presented papers at local and international conferences including the 2019 ILDS& (Interlending and Document Supply) Conference in the Czech Republic. He has collaborated with other researchers from the different IFLA Special interest groups on issues that affect libraries in the modern era. Chisita has written journal articles, book chapters and produced conference papers and participated and presented on webinars relating to topical issues on libraries and related institutions and the emerging technologies
Dr Sarah Kaddu holds a Bachelor of Library & Information Science, Master of Arts in Information Studies, and a Ph.D. in Information Science. Currently, President, Uganda Library & Information Association (ULIA); Former Secretary-General, ULIA; President, SCECSAL (Standing Conference for Eastern, Central and Southern Africa), AfLIA East Africa Representative; Treasurer, AfLIA, Executive member IFLA Africa section, Reviewer, IFLA/ OCLC Jay Jordan Early Career Fellowship programme, and a Library & Information Science Educator.
