Expo Opening

On Wednesday, 11 August, Ingrid Parent- IFLA President-elect gave the opening speech at the exhibition hall.  She thanked the host country Sweden and the host city Gothenburg, as well as the sponsors. She encouraged the audience to “visit as many stands as you can.”, something many of them did.

Just outside the Swedish Exhibition and Congress Centre, you will find some of Gothenburg’s most visited tourist attractions; the amusement park Liseberg,  the science centre Universeum and the Museum of World Culture. Nearby Korsvägen you will also find the main street - the Avenue - providing many opportunities to go shopping.

IFLA World Report 2010

The IFLA World Report 2010 will be launched at the WLIC in Gothenburg. This is the fifth Report in the Series that has appeared biennially since 2001. The project was assigned to a research team from the Department of Information Science, University of Pretoria, South Africa, with Prof Theo Bothma as project leader.
