A special reception was organized by Pedro Padilla-Rosa (PR National Committee) and Ivette Torres (PR Supreme Court Librarian), at the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico on Monday, August 16, 2011, and hosted by Chief Justice Hernandez Denton and two associate justices.

The Dean of the Law School of the University of Puerto Rico attended, as well as several prominent lawyers, in addition to some 70 Puerto Rican librarians and law librarians from all over the world.  President Tise and President Elect Parent were in attendance.

The Chief Justice delivered welcoming remarks which are very complimentary to the library profession:

"For those of us who are in the legal profession, where information is a central element of our work, access and availability of legal sources are of upmost importance. Thus, it is vital that our libraries continue to grow, adapt and transform with new technological innovations to assure that we can meet our goal of making information more accessible."
