Current Conference

The 2011 World Library and Information Congress will take place in San Juan, Puerto Rico  from 13-18 August 2011.   The Genealogy and Local History Section will present an Open Paper session on the theme of "Dispossessed Persons: Preserving Culture in an Age of Migration."   (Programme details)

Study Tour

The Genealogy and Local History Section's annual study tour will take place on Wednesday, August 17, in conjunction with the 2011 World Library and Information Congress in San Juan, Puerto Rico.  Participants will visit three local archives and a museum.

Pre-Conference Satellite Meeting

The Genealogy and Local History Section held a pre-conference satellite meeting in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands from 10-12 August 2011.  The theme of the meeting was "The Information Diaspora: Innovating Research and Records Custodianship for Family Users."  For details of the full programme and links to the presentations, please see the satellite conference page.
