IFLA 2011 planning meeting

Representatives of IFLA, the Puerto Rican National Committee and Congrex met at the Art Museum of Puerto Rico on Thursday, 16 December 2010, to discuss planning developments for the 2011 IFLA World Library and Information Congress.

The meeting was highly successful as the enthusiasm for the event grows now that the time of the meeting draws nearer.

Participants at the meeting were: IFLA Secretary General Jennefer Nicholson, and IFLA Conference Officer Josche Ouwerkerk; Christine Graham and Kristina Milicevic, representing Congrex Ltd. From the PR National Committee: Luisa Vigo-Cepeda, Chair; Vice-Chairs: Pedro Padilla-Rosa (UPR Law Library), Carmen Santos-Corrada (UPR Medical Sciences Library); other Executive officers of the National Committee: Josefina Gómez de Hillyer (National Library of Puerto Rico), Sandra Castro (Director of School and Public Libraries, Dept. of Education), Sarai Lastra (U of Turabo Library), Sonia Diaz Latorre (U of the Sacred Heart Library); and Yareli González of the Puerto Rico Convention Bureau.

Meetings were also held with representatives of the Puerto Rico Convention Bureau and the Puerto Rico Tourism Board to make sure that all delegates will have a wonderful Puerto Rican experience.
