Theme:
Unlocking Economic, Social and Cultural Treasures through Electronic/Digital Inclusion and Integration

Today’s world is populated by multilingual and culturally diverse communities. We ask the question “How does the electronic/digital inclusion and integration of library and information resources enable people to access, develop and transform the potential and benefit from their Economic, Social and Cultural Treasures”.

The IFLA Library Services to Multicultural Populations Section invites interested professionals  to submit proposals for the open session to be held in Cape Town, South Africa from 15-21 August 2015.

Areas of interest include:

  • Multicultural/lingual practices in libraries
  • Equality of access to library and information services
  • Digital inclusion and integration practices
  • Libraries and information centres  as community space
  • Public engagement and lifelong learning

The goal is to create a diverse programme of 4-6 speakers (10-15 min presentations).
