Theme:
Africa and the United Nations Post-2015 Development Agenda

Africa Section invites proposals for papers to be presented at its Satellite Meeting hosted by University of South Africa (UNISA) Cape Town Campus in partnership with Cape Peninsula University of Technology [CPUT] on the theme Africa and the United Nations Post-2015 Development Agenda”.

Sub-themes

Proposal should address one or more of the sub-themes in English or French:

  • Post-2015 Development Agenda and Emerging African Societies
  • The Role of African Libraries in Driving the Post-2015 Development Agenda Initiative
  • The Challenges and Prospects of Achieving the Post 2015 Development Agenda in African Societies
  • Africa and the Millennium Development Goals: Monitoring, Evaluation and Impact Assessment
  • Implementation Framework for Post-2015 Development Agenda

Submissions and selection process

Papers should be original, well researched and never presented anywhere else.

Each paper is expected to be about 2000 words in length, and to be presented and discussed within 20 minutes in about 10 slides.

Should you be interested in contributing, please provide:

  • Name and affiliation of presenter(s)
  • The title of the paper
  • An abstract of the paper or presentation of 300-500 words, in English or French
  • Brief biographical information of presenter(s)
  • Contact information including email address

28 February 2015

Submission of full text:

1 May 2015

Registration is 50 EUROs. All interested participants must register in advance.

Submissions

All proposals must be in before 2 February 2015.

Please note

At least one of the paper's authors must be present to deliver a summary of the paper during the Satellite conference. Abstracts should only be submitted with the understanding that the expenses of attending the conference will be the responsibility of the author(s)/presenter(s) of accepted papers.

All papers that are presented at the WLIC 2015 will be made available online via the IFLA Library under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 license. Authors of accepted papers must complete the IFLA Author Form.

All expenses, including registration for the conference, travel, accommodation etc., are the responsibility of the authors/presenters. No financial support can be provided by IFLA, but a special invitation letter can be issued to authors.
